Holy Week Services

• Palm Sunday, March 16, 2008, 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. : Procession with Palms and Reading of the Passion.
• Maundy Thursday, March 20, 2008, 7:00 p.m. : The service will begin in the fellowship hall as we gather to "do this in remembrance" of Him. The service begins at 7:00 p.m. and concludes in the silence of the sanctuary with the stripping of the altar.
• Good Friday, March 21, 2008, 7:00 p.m. : The church gathers at 7:00 p.m. to remember the death of Jesus. We focus not only on the agony of the cross but especially on God’s victory through the crucified. We "lift high the cross" as a sign of God’s triumph over sin, death, and evil. There is also an opportunity to join our ecumenical neighbors at 1:00 pm on Good Friday for a service of the Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart Church, 4776 Saratoga Ave. San Diego, CA 92107.
• Vigil of Easter, March 22, 2008, 7:00 p.m. : St. Peter's by the Sea is invited to First Lutheran Church, 1420 First Ave (at Ash St.) San Diego, CA 92101 for the Easter Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
• Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008
  • 7:00 a.m. (Eucharist Liturgy) Sunrise service on the cliffs next to the ocean (dress warmly!).
  • 8:00 a.m. (Easter Brunch in the parish hall)
  • 8:45 a.m. (Eucharist Liturgy in the sanctuary)
  • 9:45 a.m. (Easter Brunch in the parish hall)
  • 10:30 a.m. (Eucharist Liturgy in the sanctuary)
