WELCOME TO ST. PETER'S BY THE SEA

We are glad that you have come to worship with us today!  Please sign a WELCOME card found in the pew rack, and give it to an usher or drop it in the offering plate.  A nursery is available for toddlers and young children. Children’s Church School for grades Pre-K to 5th grade meets during the worship service. Large-print bulletins and children’s bulletins are available from an usher. You will find hand sanitizer in the pew rack for your use during the service.

ALTAR CARE is given for the praise and glory of God.  Today we thank Rose Engleman for the flowers at the altar given in thanksgiving for her brother. We also thank the Fellowship Committee for the coffee fellowship after the service.

AD HOC FINANCIAL PRIORITIES PRESENTATION: As requested by the congregation, the Ad Hoc Financial Priorities committee will present their report to the congregation after the worship service today.

NEWSLETTER DEADLINE: All articles, announcements, calendar items, etc. for the November issue of the Fisherman’ Net are due to the office by the end of today, Sunday, October 15, 2017. Photos of your event are especially appreciated. Thank you!

CHRISTIAN SERVICE: Tomorrow, Monday, October 16, 2017, St. Peter’s will deliver 9 Quilts and 48 School Kits to the LSS/SC (Lutheran Social Services/Southern California) Ingathering. These will be loaded on a truck with quilts & kits from other Lutheran churches in San Diego and distributed worldwide through Lutheran World Relief. Another beautiful example of God’s Work. Our Hands.

BISHOP'S GATHERING - "CONGREGATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN CHANGING TIMES" Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9b) Sunday, October 22 at Clairemont Lutheran Church 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your Congregation Council will attend this annual gathering and all interested parties are welcome. HAND AND FOOT CARD GAME: Our next Hand & Foot is Saturday, October 28th at 5:00 p.m. Be sure to sign up on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.

OCTOBER FOOD DRIVE: Loaves & Fishes is settling in to their new distribution site and are in need of financial contributions at this time (vs. canned goods). You can make a monetary contribution through St. Peter’s by the Sea, marking your envelope “Loaves & Fishes”. Thank you.

VOLUNTEER READERS: Sunset View Elementary is looking for volunteers to give one hour a week of their time to the “Everyone A Reader” program. Contact Janene Bacica, Site Coordinator, at 619-223-7156 for more information.

LUTHERAN DISASTER RESPONSE: If you would like to make a donation to Lutheran Disaster Response to assist those affected by the hurricanes and the subsequent flooding, make your check payable to St. Peter’s by the Sea and note “Hurricane Relief” in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity.

ARTISTS & CRAFTERS: Looking for a place to market your creations and products? Why not consider being a VENDOR at the Pacifica Women of the ELCA Convention, November 3-4, 2017, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Solana Beach. To qualify for a space you must be a member of an ELCA congregation.
